Spiritual Insights with Music - Raat ke Raahi thak mat jaana

Raat ke Raahi thak mat jaana By Lata Mangeshkar

Spiritual Insights: In the journey of life, we all are travelers. We come across so many people, situations, upheavals, moments of joy as well as disguise, and so on. Life does not end there hence it is important to know the higher purpose of life whilst performing routine duties, roles and responsibilities. With this clarity of goal; we are able to decide the vision and mission for ourselves. Nevertheless, the aspirations have to face internal friction and resistance at times, and at such times when the spirits to acheive the higher purpose is fading, the song inspires the being, the traveler to focus within; reshuffle one's consciousness and continue with the ray of hope.
Very significantly this paradigm has been elaborated with the simile of day and night. However dark the night may be, but it cannot last for long. So during the darkness of tough situations, let me continue my efforts and look forward to the rising sun with the coming dawn. This faith in God, trust in myself and continous effort with the ray of hope will ensure my success in acheiving the goals for myself.

Empowering thoughts for Self-Sustenance: Looking at the darkness in situations of life, I contemplate over the beauty and joy which arrives with the ray of hope that emerges with the rising sun. Each dawn sparkles the earth and fills life on earth with joy and energy. Once again, I gather the enthusiasm to look beyond the darkness of situation; to reaffirm my purpose and goal of life and move forward in the journey of life towards my destination.... O traveler of night, don't get tired... destination of the new dawn is just about to arrive.

Hindi Lyrics with English Interpretation:
raat ke raahi
raat ke raahi thak mat jaana
subah ki manzil door naheen, door nahi
raat ke raahi ...

O traveller of night, do not get tired as the destination of the morning is not far, its not far….. O traveller of night

dharati ke phaile aangan mein
pal do pal hai raat ka dera
dharati ke phaile aangan mein
pal do pal hai raat ka dera
zulm ka seena cheer ke dekho
jhaank raha hai naya savera
dhalata din majaboor sahi
chadhata sooraj majaboor naheen, majaboor nahi
thak mat jaanaa, ho raahi thak mat jaana
raat ke raahi ...

In the spread of vast courtyard of earth, night spans only for a minute or two. Take the courage to cross the face of difficulties, you will find new dawn peeping in. The setting day may be tied up to do so, but the rising sun is not tied up, it’s not under pressure. So don’t get tired O traveller, don’t get tired…..

sadiyon tak chup rahanevaale
ab apana haq leke rahenge
sadiyon tak chup rahanevaale
ab apana haq leke rahenge
jo karana hai khul ke karenge
jo kahana hai saaf kahenge
jeete ji ghut ghut kar marana
is jag ka dastoor naheen, dastoor nahi
thak mat jaanaa, ho raahi thak mat jaana
raat ke raahi ...

Those who were silent for centuries, will now claim their inheritance and rights. Whatever we will do, we will do freely and whatever we have to say, we will say clearly. Dying with suffocation whilst alive is not the custom of this world, it’s not the custom / ritual here. So don’t get tired O traveller, don’t get tired…..

tootengi bojhal zanjeeren
jaagengi soyi taqadeeren
tootengi bojhal zanjeeren
jaagengi soyi taqadeeren
loot pe kab tak pahara dengi
zang lagi khuneen shamasheeren
rah nahi sakata is duniya mein
jo sab ko manzoor naheen, manzoor nahi
thak mat jaanaa, ho raahi thak mat jaana
raat ke raahi ...

The heavy chains will break, the sleeping fortune will awaken. How long can they withhold the loot when the war is set for bloodshed. That cannot prevail in this world which is not accepted by all, not accepted by all. So don’t get tired O traveller, don’t get tired…..

O traveller of night….
